In 1897, we founded an all-girl and all-boy schools in Tzfat. The Ashkenazi Rabbis decided to ostracize the schools and threatened that the families who send their children there will not receive their "Chaluka" allowance. Despite these threats, Sephardic families sent their children to the Tzfat schools and after a while so did the Ashkenazi families. At first, the school was situated in two old buildings in the Jewish quarter and in 1925 it moved to a new location which now hosts Tzfat College. With the establishment of the State of Israel, "Kol Israel Haverim" passed on the management of the schools to the Ministry of Education
